More, an animated short film

Posted by rick

This is one of my favorite short films of all time. Was nominated for the Academy Award back in 1999, and now Wholpin, the lovely DVD series from McSweeneys, has brought it to YouTube! The director, Mark Osborne, went on to direct Kung Fu Panda.

Remember when YouTube was bursting with iPhone commercial spoofs? Well, this was my favorite. If you like this, you should also check out “The Curious Probe.”

Billy Collins, action poetry

Posted by rick

What happens when a former Poet Laureate teams up with a selection of different animators and graphic artists to illustrate his poems? Billy Collins Action Poetry!

Each video is quite extraordinary. They all share the same tone, but vary wildly in visual style. You should definitely see Budapest as well. I mean, really, you should see all of them.

Music Video: Sh*t Disco - OK

Posted by rick

Allright, so some videos out there on the internets I just get downright jealous about.
This is one of ‘em.

Directed by Price James and edited by Jo Apps, this is a pop-up book based music video. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. Because it is so good. Shitdisco - OK
