Cory Doctorow’s new short story, "The Things that Make Me Weak and Strange Get Engineered Away," is available on Tor as a free read. This one’s about a monastical organization for geeks, something of a cross between academia and the Googleplex. It’s Tor.com’s first Creative Commons-licensed story, so be sure to translate it into Swahili or at least tell them how much you appreciate them not locking down your media. The cool image associated with it is by Red Nose Studio. And if you’re too lazy to read, the audio link below is a podcast of Cory reading it to you. Full service!

This isn’t the kind of thing we normally have here, but this speed run of levelHead, an augmented-reality spatial memory game, which was captured with desktop screencap software and as such seems a bit like stop motion, is so cool it’s practically art. (Also, it’s a spoiler. I know, you are so bummed, you wanted to figure out the green cube yourself. tough toodles, crybaby.)

This is pretty much a straight documentary on a fascinating man you may have heard of: Aubrey de Grey. As such, it’s not maybe as “artistic” as the content we usually post here on Evil TV. However, it is very well made (directed by Christopher Sykes) and if you are anything like me, you’ll find it incredibly interesting / enjoyable.

Here’s a simple game with a vertical orientation like R!se, but with the option to buy better powers in between rounds. The NASA-style letter at the beginning cracks me up.
